Ruben Cruz has been with Shalom church since it's beginning in 2008. His father Rolando Cruz was the founding Pastor and led the church until his death. Pastor Rolando battled cancer for eleven months. He fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished his race here on earth, January 26, 2019. God greatly used him while he was in the hospital to share the gospel and to see several men come to know Jesus.

Ruben had served as worship leader and youth pastor for eleven years. Shalom Baptist Church in Guatemala City, appointed Ruben interim pastor of Shalom Jireh in Conevisa in February 2019. We have watched God work in Ruben's life over the years and we are so proud to come along side him to support him and encourage him.

Real Love expresses love and support in a tangible way by sending a monthly love offering to help the Cruz family with their living expenses.

In April 2026 Real Love began sending a love offering to Alex and Inesita Morales who serve as the Children and Youth Ministers.
